Nikolai Dolgopolov - Vartanyan. A leather-bound gift book.

Nikolai Dolgopolov's book "Vartanyan" is a detailed essay dedicated to the Soviet intelligence officer Gevorg Andreevich Vartanyan, the holder of the title Hero of the Soviet Union. The publication reveals the role that this person played in international operations in peacetime, as well as his influence on the strategic events of the mid-twentieth century.
The book covers the years of service, starting with participation in the security of the "Big Three" at the Tehran Conference in 1943, and continues with the history of fifteen‑four‑ten-five-year missions in more than a hundred countries. It describes contacts with the top leadership of states, representatives of special services and the armed forces, as well as the difficult conditions in which the intelligence officer worked, hiding under the guise of a successful businessman. The author relies on the memoirs of Gohar Levonovna's wife, the testimony of students, colleagues and superiors, as well as rare archival materials. Thanks to these sources, the reader gets the opportunity to see the details of the character's personal and professional path, as well as to understand the mechanisms of the functioning of illegal intelligence in the post-war period.
The book allows for a deeper understanding of the Soviet officer's contribution to shaping world politics and reveals little-known pages of the outstanding intelligence officer's biography.
