The proposed works in 24 volumes includes almost all the scientific work of V. I. Vernadsky, presentations, diaries and the bulk of his epistolary heritage. The basis of this publication amounted to thematic editions published in separate books, since 1992, in the series "Library of the works of academician V. I. Vernadsky" the Commission of RAS on development of scientific heritage of V. I. Vernadsky. The collection also includes selected works of V. I. Vernadsky in five volumes, published by the Institute of Geochemistry and analytical chemistry. V. I. Vernadsky of the Russian Academy of Sciences (then USSR) in 1954-1960, as well as in vivo and other publications. The contents of the first volume covers the works related to the first period of scientific activity of V. I. Vernadsky (until 1914). They include the early work of the scientist in the study of soil and crystallography. The first volume also included works of V. I. Vernadsky of radioactivity made in the 1910-1916 years., and early works on Geochemistry.
