An Atlas of the Officer (in gift box)

Among the cartographic works published by the topographic service of the Armed Forces, a prominent place is occupied by complex military atlases. Released new, fifth edition of the Atlas of Officer developed by the Military topographic Directorate of the General staff of the Russian Federation.
Based on it created an Atlas of the Officer, which is designed primarily for military readers as a good scientific reference textbook for studies of the political structure, the geographical environment, the characteristics of the socio-economic development of the world and its individual regions.
Maintaining continuity with previous editions, the Atlas consists of an introductory section, the geographical part of the informational section and the index of geographical names. The geographical part of the Atlas contains seven sections: the world map and oceans; maps of the Russian Federation; maps of continents, their parts and individual States (five sections). Reference and information section reference tables about the most important natural objects and engineering structures, as well as military-geographical information about countries of the world and international organizations.
The introductory section of the Atlas contains information on astronomy, terrestrial magnetism, time, space research and solar system, description of map projections, fragments of samples topographical and special maps of the Russian Federation and NATO satellite imagery.
Description of map projections gives General information about mathematical basis of maps, types of cartographic grids and the nature of the distortions in the projections used for topographic and special maps and charts of this Atlas.
World maps and oceans represented by the political world map, physical, geographic maps and oceans, with a series of thematic maps.
