The collective monograph represents the first synthesis of scientific research on the history of Crimea from its initial peopling to return to Russia in March 2014 On the basis of achievements of domestic and foreign historiography, writing (published and archival), archaeological and other sources, the second comprehensively dealt with the past of the Crimean Peninsula in the broader context of the historical development of Eastern Europe and Russia. In different periods of the history of Crimea shows the socio-economic and socio-political development of the region, ethno-demographic composition, the spiritual and material culture of the population, and the location of the Peninsula in international relations and a major armed conflict.
