A gallery of historical figures shaped by period detail and literary talent
Russian Russian History in the Biographies of its Most Important Figures is a classic work by one of the founders of Russian historical thought, N.I. Kostomarov. The selection of plots, unusual for the traditional science of the XIX century, and a peculiar political concept made "History" a significant social event of its time. Thanks to his outstanding literary talent and the desire to be exceptionally attentive to the characteristic details of the epoch, the famous historian, ethnographer, writer managed to create and painterly depict an entire gallery of Russian historical figures. The publication is decorated with more than three hundred rare illustrations.
