Benedict Spinoza — Dutch philosopher, a rationalist and naturalist of Jewish origin, one of the main representatives of modern philosophy.
His philosophical system was based on the idea of absolute monotheism, but ironically it is in the view of many people remains an atheist. A Jew by birth, he later converted to Christianity, but both Jews and Christians pursued him, believing freethinker.
