Family life and world history within a single stream of time
"War and Peace" by L. N. Tolstoy is a work for all times. It seems that it has always existed, the text seems so familiar as soon as we open the first pages of the novel, many of its episodes are so memorable: hunting and Yuletide, Natasha Rostova's first ball, a moonlit night in Otradnoye, Prince Andrew in the Battle of Austerlitz... Scenes of "peaceful", family life are replaced by pictures that are important for the course of the entire world history, but for Tolstoy they are equivalent, connected in a single stream of time. Each episode is important not only for the development of the plot, but also as one of the countless manifestations of life, which is saturated in every moment and which Tolstoy teaches to love.
