Volume 1-2:
The book is an outstanding scientist-Slavist academician O. N. Trubacheva "proceedings of the etymology of" contains more than one hundred of his works, a list of which was (during the life of the author) one of his disciples A. G. Grigoryan. Volume 3:
In the 3rd volume of "Writings on the etymology of" outstanding Russian linguist-Slavist, indoevropeiskoi, the etymology, historian, lexicographer, talented researcher of science Oleg Nikolaevich Trubachev includes three extensive monographs published in the 60-ies of the last century and received wide acclaim and international recognition. "History of Slavic terms of relationship and some most ancient terms of a social system" (1959) is an etymological research on the wide Indo-European background of Slavic terms of kinship, the oldest of the lexical system in the human lexicon at all. The study was a major event in the domestic and world studies and brought the then young scientist deserved authority in the scientific world. The second monograph "the Origin of the names of Pets in Slavic languages. Etymological research" (1960) was recorded in foreign criticism as the work, without which now can not do any research in this area. Research the etymology of this sphere of vocabulary of the Slavonic languages are presented on a background of extensive cultural and historical information. The third book "the Craft terminology in Slavic languages Etymology and experience of group reconstructions" (1966) dedicated to the reconstruction and etymological analysis of the vocabulary of the old kinds of handicraft activities of the Slavs, textile, woodworking, pottery and smithery. The study allows us to trace common features and regularities of terminological groups, to identify peculiarities of the Slavic terminology of the craft, which involves a comparison with the terminology of other languages, however, opens the way to the ethnolinguistics and the study of ancient ethnic ties.
Volume 4:
In the 4th volume of "Writings on the etymology of" prominent Russian Slavist linguist Oleg Nikolaevich Trubachev includes two monographs published in the 60-ies of the last century. Invaluable in terms of scientific value the works and now, half a century later, have not lost their relevance and will certainly be in demand by modern researchers with gratitude to the great predecessors. The first book ≪Linguistic analysis of the hydronyms of the Upper Dnieper≫ (1962), written jointly with V. N. Toporov, were met with great attention of the famous scientists-toponymists, linguists, archaeologists and historians who, in their subsequent studies largely relied on a book about Geronimo Upper Dnieper. In the "Names of rivers of right Bank Ukraine" (1968) V. N. Trumpeter continues the study of hydronymy given the numerous and stakeholder feedback received, the first book in scientific critique, largely clarifying and complementing it with new content. The close semantic relationship between these works defined their joint publication in a single volume that undoubtedly facilitates the work of the two books.
