The book tells about the biblical prophet Moses, the lawgiver and leader of Israel, to whom God revealed the secrets of life: the creation of the world and man. In its pages are summed up all the existing modern day version of the Exodus of Israeli tribes from Egypt, including historical works, Bible studies and almost unknown to the General reader of Jewish sources. After the historian P. Johnson, who believed that "to invent the figure of Moses - an impossible task for the human mind", the author refers to his hero as a real living person and a true leader of the nation. The clash of different, sometimes opposite, points of view on the events of the life of the prophet makes the book interesting for the reader is deeply religious and a convinced atheist.
