Lev Tikhomirov – Monarchical Statehood. A gift book in a leather binding.

The book by the outstanding Russian thinker Lev Tikhomirov, “Monarchical Statehood”, is a fundamental work on political philosophy and the theory of state power. In this large‑scale study, the author provides a detailed analysis of sole supreme power, its religious and moral foundations, and its psychological prerequisites. Tikhomirov examines in detail the historical evolution of the monarchical principle, covering the experience of Ancient Rome, Byzantium, and European states. A special place in the book is occupied by a detailed analysis of the Russian autocratic tradition and its fundamental differences from Western absolutism.
The writer convincingly demonstrates that true monarchy is based not on arbitrariness or violence, but on a deep moral connection between the ruler and the people. The philosopher also examines the causes of the crisis in the state system at the beginning of the 20th century and proposes ways to strengthen traditional institutions of power. The text of the book combines strict academic logic, profound legal analysis, and sincere empathy for the fate of the Russian Empire.
This monograph is recognized as a classic and the most comprehensive exposition of the ideology of conservatism and monarchism in Russian thought.
