The book contains a sketch of the fauna of the Caucasus with a large number of photographs of mountain hunting Russian officers and princes.
The publication is dedicated to the Paris exhibition of 1900, therefore, printed in two languages: Russian and French (in two columns). The author, an officer of the Grenadier Mingrelian regiment A. A. Kalinowski, known as a connoisseur of nature of the Caucasus. In addition to "the Hunting of the Caucasus", he penned another book on this subject — "Essay on the Caucasian of the Caucasian fauna and hunting", published in Tiflis in 1901.
