A magical search for a kidnapped bride and Oleg as an epic hero
Content:
1) "Ruslan and Lyudmila" is the first completed and printed poem by A. S. Pushkin. Framed by a fairy-tale plot - a magical story about how the valiant Ruslan, having gone in search of a kidnapped bride, overcomes treachery, deception and evil witchcraft - the features of lyrical genres and heroic epic, the diversity of the narrative and the author's irony are combined, revealing the great talent of the author.
The versatility, drama and poetic charm of the text are conveyed by the lively and vivid illustrations of A. D. Reypolsky.
2) The Song of the prophetic Oleg
In folk legends, Prince Oleg was portrayed as a magician who could turn into a beast or a bird, then a wise leader who could foresee the future, then a clever military commander who outwitted the Greeks ... A. S. Pushkin told about him as an epic hero, to whom "both waves and land" are submissive, whom enemies fear and spare "both slings and the arrow, and the crafty dagger"... The real fairy-tale hero was presented by Prince Oleg and the artist Veniamin Losin, who created many variants of illustrations for Pushkin's "Song ...", most of which are published for the first time in this book.
3) Fairy Tales
