Nine peoples of Russia through early history, worldview and traditional knowledge
"The Tungusic-Manchu peoples of Siberia and the Far East"
The book is dedicated to the Tungusic-Manchurian peoples of Siberia and the Far East, and suggests the completion of the publication of volumes on the indigenous peoples of the North of the Russian Federation in the "Peoples and Cultures" series. The collective monograph presents the cultures of all the Tungusic-Manchurian peoples of Russia. The book is divided into two main parts. The first part reflects the extremely vast, both in terms of space and ideological depth, the Tungus-Manchurian world of Siberia and the Far East in historical time. Based on materials from archaeology, linguistics, the pantheon, sacred visual and musical art and other traditional knowledge, a picture of worldview, social relations is being built, and pages of the early history of the Tunguso-Manchurian communities are revealed. The second part of the monograph contains separate chapters on nine Tungusic-Manchu peoples living in Russia: Evenks, Evens, Negidals, Wilta (Orochen, Oroks), Nanai, Ulchi, Udege, Oroch, and Taz. The paper describes the modern and traditional culture of all the Tungusic-Manchurian peoples of Russia based on an integrated approach. This made it possible to summarize modern ethnological achievements in the field of studying individual Tungusic-Manchurian peoples, identify gaps and achievements, as well as set new research objectives in their study.
