"Speeches" is a collection that is a collection of political speeches by a great orator of antiquity. This collection is a unique source of information about the political life of Ancient Greece, as well as about the personality and work of Demosthenes.
The collection is based on speeches directed against Philip the Great. In particular, it includes the famous "Olynthian speeches" delivered on the occasion of the Macedonian army's march on the Greek polis of Olynthos. These speeches are the standard of Demosthenes' energetic and expressive style, which makes them especially valuable for historians and researchers.
