Nearly a century of the Demidov dynasty's relations with power and Peter the Great
"Demidovs" is a book dedicated to the life and work of Nikita Demidov, the founder of the industrial dynasty.
The book tells about the life and work of Nikita Demidov and his sons, under whom the empire reached its greatest prosperity. The author, Doctor of Historical Sciences, emphasizes the importance of the creative activity of the Demidovs, while avoiding panegyric praises and portrayals of heroes as bloody villains.
Making extensive use of documentary sources, the author tells about events spanning almost a century, about the Demidovs' relations with the authorities, including Peter the Great, and about the contribution of representatives of the family to the development of the Russian state.
The first edition of the book was published in 2012 and was awarded the diploma of the historical and literary prize "Alexander Nevsky". This confirms the high quality and relevance of the information provided.
