Vladimir Nikolaevich Chelomey (1914-1984) - one of the founders of Soviet rocket engineering and cosmonautics, an outstanding Soviet scientist in the field of mechanics and control processes, General Designer of cruise and ballistic missile complexes, space systems, stations and apparatuses, was perhaps the most classified Soviet scientist, which imposed a severe taboo on his public life and activities. The enormity and versatility of the tasks he solved, as well as his unique talent, often brought complexity and even drama to his bright creative destiny, which, despite all the blows and temptations, was crowned with remarkable achievements. The book was written using materials and documents from the NPO Mashinostroenie, the Khrunichev State Scientific Research Center, the Russian State Archive of Economics, the Archives of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Bauman Moscow State Technical University and supplemented with photographic materials, some of them are published for the first time.
