Ed Falco – The Corleone Family. A gift book in a leather binding.

“The Corleone Family” by Ed Falco is the official prequel to Mario Puzo’s famous novel “The Godfather” and was based on an unused script by Puzo himself. The book is set in New York in 1933, at the end of the Prohibition era. The central figure of the story is Don Vito Corleone, who seeks to strengthen his legitimate business and expand his criminal influence. His eldest son, the impulsive seventeen‑year‑old Santino, accidentally learns the truth about his father’s real job. Against the Don’s wishes, Sonny longs to join the family business and prove his worth. The situation escalates due to the brutal war between the Corleones and the rival Marripodi clan. The reader gets to see the younger versions of other iconic characters: Peter Clemenza, Salvatore Tessio, and the future consigliere Tom Hagen. The author pays special attention to the dark story of Luca Brasi’s rise to prominence — he is the most terrifying mafia hitman. Ultimately, the book perfectly reveals the characters’ motives and the backstory of the great crime saga.
