Christopher's family ties and meeting Valentine in early twentieth-century England
"The End of the Parade" is a novel that stands on a par with the great works of the "lost generation", such as Remarque's "On the Western Front without Change", Aldington's "Death of a Hero" and "Goodbye, Weapons!" Hemingway. The action takes place in England at the beginning of the XX century, and the main character Christopher is attached to his wife and son, but suddenly a charming girl Valentine appears in his life.
In 2012, a TV series of the same name was filmed based on the novel, in which the talented and irresistibly charming Benedict Cumberbatch played the main role. This makes the book even more attractive to film and history lovers.
