Volume 1

The first book on the history of cars of the Bavarian Motor Plant (1928-1972) includes all BMW production models, starting with licensed Dixi subcompacts of the late twenties and ending with sedans and coupes of the first half of the seventies. In addition, the history of the development of the concern itself for the specified period is described. When typing facts, the author focused primarily on factory sources: branded brochures and price lists, press photos, original catalogs of spare parts and units. The publication is richly illustrated with shots from the best automobile museums and exhibitions in Germany and other European countries. A detailed study of the line of pre-war BMW cars is obviously presented in the Russian version for the first time. To do this, we had to find and study more than a dozen foreign sources, and even often contradicting each other.

Volume 2

The second volume of the trilogy tells the full story of the cars of the Bavarian Motor Plant, developed and put into production in the last three decades of the XX century. This includes all production models of the BMW line, starting with the first generation of the fifth series (sample of 1972) and ending with the X5 crossover and the Z8 supercar, which went into production in the late autumn of 1999. In addition, the history of the concern's development for the specified period is described. When typing facts, the author focused primarily on factory sources: branded brochures and price lists, press photos, original catalogs of spare parts and units. The publication is richly illustrated with amateur shots from the best automobile museums and exhibitions in Germany and other European countries.

The book includes 20 chapters of the main content: all BMW lines from E12 to E53. Detailed description and complete model-by-model production statistics.

Volume 3

The third and final volume of the new book project tells the full story of BMW cars of the beginning of the XXI century, put into production in the period from 2001 to 2017. This includes all production models with a classic layout (including all–wheel drive and hybrid) - starting with the seventh series in the E65 body and ending with the fifth series G30. Bonus – BMW passenger car catalog, relevant for 2020. In addition, the economic development of the concern in the period under review is described. As applications – the history of BMW's participation in motorsport (XX century) and a large chronological essay about Alpina. When collecting facts, the author focused primarily on factory sources: brochures and price lists, press photos, original catalogs of spare parts and units, annual reports of the concern. The publication is qualitatively illustrated.

The book consists of 26 chapters of the main content (BMW car families launched from 2001 to 2017) and four appendices: 1. The history of BMW in body racing. 2. The history of BMW in rally, Formula 1 and sports prototypes. 3. The history of the Alpina company. 4. The author's view of the overall history of BMW. A bonus for readers is a catalog of all BMW production models for 2020.
